Meet Nickole Gregorio, Psychotherapist in Pickering, Ontario

I believe that we all have the ability to create a better story or lead a better life

Meet Nickole Gregorio, Psychotherapist in Pickering, ON

Hi, I’m Nickole, and I believe that all clients have the ability to thrive and solve their problems with a conversation that can change behaviour to implement change and action.

Growing up as a child of immigrants as well as residing and working in a predominantly immigrant neighborhood, I am interested in helping immigrants, children of immigrants, neurodivergent individuals and other minorities.

My biggest goal and highest hope for my clients is for them to find their voice, feel safe within themselves, and have the skills and confidence to tackle any current or future challenges. Ultimately, my job is to help support the achievement of whatever goal they have set out for or any new goals they discover within therapy.

I am a lifelong learner, a listener, and a helper. I believe these roles extend outside of my profession and embody who I am in my personal life. I am the friend or family that loves to offer support and be there in whatever capacity someone needs.

About Larô Therapy

Larô Therapy is a psychotherapy practice with social justice at the core of its work. We dedicate our practice to immigrants, neurodivergent folks, the LGBTQ+ community, visible and invisible minorities, and racialized individuals.

Play /English Translation/

Play is an activity done for recreation or pleasure, but it is also often done for emotional regulation and self-improvement, calming, or further knowledge.

Whatever the age, we believe that Play is a crucial part of our lives. One’s incapacity to play or engage in anything fun speaks to one’s struggles whether inside of them or in systems around them. For us, being able to play isn’t only a goal we all move towards. It is also the means to which will bring us toward this goal.

Play is a natural part of growth that fosters development for humans of all ages. It supports social, emotional, and cognitive growth. It provides a means to learn as you explore the world around and within you. For both children and adults, play can be used for self-expression, integration, processing, learning, and coping. Playing, especially when unstructured, stimulates mental flexibility and creativity.

A little bit more about me

I am a highly sensitive person and very empathetic.

I think my personality influences me to take a very gentle, non-judgemental, open and person-centered approach to counselling, where I see the individual as the expert of their own lives.

Something really important that I’ve learned both as a mental health professional but also in my journey as a client is 1. You don’t need to earn your worth and 2. It is not selfish to prioritize yourself.

It’s important to understand that we don’t need to do anything to be deserving of help or deserving or taking up space or deserving of a better life. Everyone’s existence matters and you are just as important as everyone else. I think this is an especially important notion for immigrants or children of immigrants.
